Air and Weather Monitoring at Stibnite

The air quality and meteorological monitoring station is up and running at Stibnite. The best part is our new equipment is all solar powered! Last week, site staff at the Stibnite Gold Project along with engineers and consultants from JBR Environmental Consultants and Dagley LLC built a state-of-the-art air quality station that continuously monitors and records particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5) present in the area along with a full meteorological system that continuously monitors and records horizontal wind speed and direction, temperature, barometric pressure, solar radiation, vertical wind speed, precipitation, and relative humidity. A solar array installed next to the monitoring equipment provides continuous power year-round. The battery-based system provides sufficient energy to run all monitoring equipment, as well as heaters and air conditioning to keep the system running during extreme weather conditions, summer and winter. The data collected from these systems will be used to establish current conditions at site and provide baseline environmental data for any potential future environmental assessment needs at Stibnite.
